Summer is here!!!

Well... Summer is officially here and we are busy, busy, busy. For Memorial Day weekend, we went to Clint's parents for family reunion. It was a lot of fun and Clancy was able to see all of his cousins. Cory read a book to Clancy and he actually listened! Nate was not cooperating for his picture... Clancy also got to see Great-Grandma Broome. She just loves babies and Clancy was so good with her. He even let her feed him his bottle. I love the pictures I took of her holding him.

This past weekend I decided it was finally warm enough for Clancy to try getting in the water outside. We don't have a kiddy pool, but we do have a water trough! My mom died when I told her I cleaned out the water trough for Clancy. I put his swimsuit on him and we went outside and had fun! This is not the best picture, but it will have to work as proof that he really liked the water trough!
Clancy is learning new things every day. He can do the army crawl very well and pretty much gets to what he wants. He should real crawl any day now. He is trying so hard! He is also learning to sleep a little later now that school is out and I don't have to get him up so early. This morning he slept until 6:45 and Clint and I were both still asleep! He is usually our alarm clock at 6:00... way to go buddy! Mom and Dad LOVED their extra sleep this morning.
My mom and dad are coming into town today and then Clancy and I are going back with them to LA on Sunday. I am actually driving and following them. This will be my test run to see how Clancy and I do on our trip there and then I will drive back by myself. I will stay a full week and I am very excited. Although I don't want to leave Clint for a week, I really want to see everyone in LA and there is no way for Clint to come for that long. Clancy and I will sure miss him and be excited to get back home! I will be sure to upate again after our trip.
Enjoy summer everyone!

It's Been a While...

I was considering waiting until summer began to blog again, but a lot has been going on, so I guess I should blog about it, right? First of all, Clint's family came to our house on April 25, the WHOLE family, mom, dad, brother, sister, spouses and kids. The only one missing was Jimmy and he was studying. It was a lot of fun to be with everyone. Here are a few pics from the day.

Granna and Pops with ALL of their grandchildren...Sweet Nate smiling for the camera and Granna with Clancy and Natalie. It was a GREAT day!

Clancy has been a busy little boy lately. He is starting to scoot around, not crawling yet, but he sure is good at getting to what he wants! He is VERY determined... I wonder who he gets that from??? Probably both of us if I am honest. He now sleeps on his belly because he rolls over as soon as I put him down. Here is pic I took of him the first time I realized he had done this. It think he suprised himself when he woke up on his belly.

He is so much fun these days! Here are a few pics of him over the past week.

I only have 13 more days of school and I am counting them down... I am so ready for summer vacation and all of the things we have planned. I am looking forward to spending time with Clancy every day. He will be at such a fun age this summer that I think we will have a blast. I will try to post again VERY soon so you don't have to wait as long for another one.

Double Bath and a Blowout!!

Sounds interesting huh?? Well...last night I gave Clancy a bath, which he thoroughly enjoyed! He was clean and smelling GOOD! Clint came in and watched Clancy while I went to look for the dog (I will write about that another day.) When I came back in I noticed that Clint was giving Clancy another bath. I said, "I just gave him a bath." Clint responded by letting me know that Clancy had a BLOW OUT that was HUGE!!! So, he needed another bath. It was all over Clint and Clancy :-) I had to laugh because this NEVER happens to Clint, it is always ME. No pictures to prove this happened, but take my word for it, it was not pretty!

Have a happy week everyone!

Easter Fun

My parents, AKA Ci Ci and Poppa, came for Easter and we had a wonderful time with them. As always, Clancy was the center of attention and boy did he like that! Ci Ci and Poppa got to keep him for 3 days and then had to leave on Tuesday morning :-(

We went to church on Sunday morning and then headed to brunch at Aggies Big House in Stillwater... YUMMY!

Even though it was a bit chilly outside, Clancy still wore his Easter outfit...we did make sure he was covered up really well when he was outside. Of course, Daddy did not really like Clancy's outfit, but it is Easter and he sure did look CUTE! I think 1 day out of 365 he is allowed to wear an outfit that Dad doesn't just love. Right??

As for me... this week is state testing for my 5th graders and boy is it boring! I HATE that they have to take these crazy tests, but I guess the state has to have some form of measuring what they know and what they still need work on. It is beautiful outside and I just want to be out there with my students, but we are stuck in the classroom :-( At least it will be over tomorrow!

I mailed of my National Board box yesterday... what a relief to have that over with. As many of you know, I did not certify the first go around, so I had to retake part of it... thank goodness I didn't have to retake ALL of it, I couldn't have done that! Now it is a wait and see game. I will find out if I certified this year in November. Isn't it CRAZY that I have to wait that long?? I might forget about it by then... well maybe not, but you get the picture.

Here are a few more picture of my precious little guy from the weekend. hopefully all of you will be able to meet him in person before he gets too old!

Have a wonderful week everyone!

New Nephew and a 6 month old!

Clint and I are the proud Aunt and Uncle of Bryce Eugene Broome! Congratulations to Colt and Megan! He sure is a cutie... weighing in at 8 lbs 8 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. He also has a head full of hair... a first for a Broome baby. Check out this sweet picture Clancy wasn't quite sure about Bryce... I think he was a little jealous that mom and dad were holding another baby! He just wasn't his normal bubbly self at the hospital. Here is a picture of him snuggling daddy while we were there...so sweet!Look at those cheeks! I just want to sqeeze them all the time. Clancy turned 6 months old last Thursday... he is growing up so fast! I am scheduling his 6 month pictures as I type this. I will be sure and send them around after we get them taken.
My mom and dad are coming for a visit on Wednesday and boy are we excited about them coming! We are sure to have LOTS of fun! Thanks for checking in on us...

Snow Day!

Yes...we had snow this weekend and YES... it is almost April! We were stuck inside pretty much all day on Saturday because of the lovely white stuff. It's not that I don't like snow, just not in late March when I am in the mode for Spring! The dogs sure had fun and our new puppy (Sissy) had never seen snow, so she thought she was in heaven. Spur was a little bothered by all of her excitement and Clancy LOVED watching the dogs play through the window. He sat in his little chair and watched them and laughed for like 20 minutes. It was so funny! We also introduced Clancy to his Johnny Jump Up and he had a blast in it as you can tell from the pictures. He and Daddy also had some good times!
Getting ready to TAKE OFF and JUMP!

Daddy tickling my toes... he is so good!

Spur and Sissy loved the snow outside and were so much fun for everyone to watch.

Well...it is back to work today :-( My kids have been CRAZY. I guess it's the weather. I can't wait to get off work and spend time with my little man!
On a closing note, I would ask that you all pray for Stellen, he is the son of a lady I only know as MckMama, her blog is one that I read daily. He is not doing well and really needs to be lifted up. A link to her website is on my sidebar (My Charming Kids). She has been so inspiring to me during her child's sickness the past week. She is a wonderful Christian and I admire her commitment to her faith.

Mostly Pictures - STARRING Clancy!!!

So... Clancy found his feet a few weeks or even months ago, but he has never, at least I have never seen him, put his toes in his mouth. He is actually sucking on his toes!! He just LOVES to do this now and loves to be naked so he can actually see his feet.
The rest of the pictures on the blog are from a photo shoot that I did this morning at 6 am... who else has a photo session with their baby that early in the morning?? He is actually at his happiest at this time of day, so I took advantage and got some REALLY cute shots. Hope you enjoy!

Are we proud parents or what??? I guess it's alright to be partial to your own child!
Until next time... Bridget

New Roof... finally

Well... the new roof is on! Praise the Lord! Clint, along with the help of many others, including his mom and dad finished the project yesterday. I am so grateful to my in-laws for coming this past week to help with this HUGE endeavor. I must say that I was quite impressed that my mother-in-law worked on my roof for 3 days straight...she is something else! She said that she will think of me and Clint each time she moves this week because she is so sore...who knew putting a new roof on would be so much work! It sure does look great though. Now we just have to clean up all of the small pieces of shingles and nails. Pictures will follow.

I am back at work today and am having a VERY good day! I woke up at 5:15 so I could get to school by 7:00 and get things done for the week since I didn't come up here AT ALL over Spring Break. My whole week goes better if I get to school early on Monday and Clint is so good about keeping Clancy in the morning and taking him to daycare for me to be able to do this. He is the BEST! Speaking of Clancy... that little booger is jsut growing like a weed! He is making more noise and moving around more each day. At night he starts out at one end of the bed and works his way to the other end in no time. I usually go in his room around 3:00am and move him down so he can scoot again. We have a video monitor and LOVE watching him move around in his sleep... it is so much fun! I wonder if he knows were watching????!!!!

On Sunday morning he slept till almost 7:00am... I kind of panicked when I woke up and it was 6:50 and I hadn't heard a peep out of him. I ran into his room and he was sleeping soundly! Of course, I woke him up and he was happy to be fed. He usually gets up around 6:15 every morning... Iguess he wanted to sleep in as much as we did!

This week will be CRAZY with parent conferences every day after school, but I will try my best to keep everyone posted! I will leave you with a picture of Clancy and Pops (Clint's Dad)
Until next time... Bridget

Thoughts for the day...

No pictures today, just thoughts...

I have been learning a lot lately about life in general, spiritually speaking. I have come to realize that the most important thing in my life is following Christ and what he has planned and worshipping him, not that I didn't know that before, it is just that in this stage of my life it is becoming more clear to me.

If you know me very well, you know that I am a very organized person by nature (you can thank my mom for that :-), and I tend to dwell on things being in order and life being in order and no chaos happening. I am a planner by nature, but married to a man that IS NOT a planner at all. This can be stressful for me at times, but I have adjusted well to his ways as he has mine. We try to find a happy medium. I can get VERY stressed when things are not in order and I think about it all day, which is not a good trait to have. Until Clancy was born I would let little things bother me, like whether or not my bed was made in the morning. I mean, seriously... is anyone at my house during the day to see it? No... and we live so far out that we rarely even have visitors! That is just an example of one of the crazy things I can let myself stress about. The Lord has really taught me that this is so unecessary and that I am letting things like my house being in order control my life. The way I see it, if I spend a whole day worrying about crazy things like that then I have wasted a day loving the Lord and being joyful. This has really become evident to me over the past few months.

There are so many things going on in mine and Clint's life right now that it can be stressful, but I just have to sit back and look at the big picture and take it one day at a time. Life is so much more joyful when I do that. I think we all can get caught up in so many "worries" that we do let it control our lives and it can take our joy away if we let it. I am determined to not let that happen. There is always tomorrow to get my bed made and to get the laundry done. Right now what is important is following Christ and worshipping him and also spending time with my precious family! I never want to neglect them because things are "out of order."

The Bible says in Matthew 6:34, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." and that is so true! In 1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18 it says, "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." I want to give thanks to the Lord no matter what is going on in my life, no matter how hectic it might be, HE is still in control and all things will work out when we follow his will. I am excited about what the future holds and also excited about what the Lord is teaching me!

I hope that you don't mind me sharing what is on my heart, hopefully it wasn't too rambly (is that a word?) maybe someone out there needed to hear this as much as I needed to write it. Man... blogging is VERY therapeutic!!

Until next time... Bridget

Spring Break = New Roof!

So... we are putting a new roof on our house this week and man it is A LOT of work! Clint and I began taking it off on Sunday and we finished on Monday night with the help of some friends. Yesterday and today our friends Cara and Kevin came in to help us put it on. Kevin has put on a few roofs and knows what he is doing, so he is teaching Clint. Cara and I only help when they get behind. It sure will be nice when it is complete...not how I planned on spending my Spring Break, but oh well... I guess it has to be done. Here are a few pics of the guys putting it on.

I know they will be TIRED when they are finished. A HUGE thank you to Kevin and Cara for helping us with this endeavor! You guys are the BEST!

Ok... so another post...

Can you blame me? I am new to this and it is so much fun! I had to share a picture of me setting up my blog...

and also a picture of Clancy in his St. Patty's Day outfit... isn't he the cutest!

I guess he won't be getting pinched today, but watch out because he sure can pinch your skin... I know first hand! OUCH!

Welcome to my Blog!!

Well... I am new to the blogging world, but I think it will be a great way for me to stay in touch with family and friends! Clancy is growing like crazy... it seems like only a few weeks ago that he looked like this...

I can't believe that in a couple of weeks he will be 6 months old! I better schedule the 6 month photo shoot before it's too late. Now he looks like this...

My how time flies!! We are having so much fun with him. He is discovering new things everyday! He is now really into playing with his feet and trying to roll over. He has done it a couple of times, but isn't too interested. He loves to stand up though... could that be a sign that he wants to walk??? I sure hope not... not yet at least! He is full of joy and is happy most all of the time. We are so blessed and thank the Lord everyday for this wonderful blessing! Who knew parenting would be so much fun??!!!
