River Fun!

What do you think we did this past Saturday?? Clancy was all dressed and ready for our 2 hour boat trip to the river with my parents and to say he had fun would be an understatement!  He had a BLAST!
We loaded up and left around 9:00 to head to the river and stayed about 2 hours before the rain came and we had to leave.  I haven't been on the river or in a boat on water for that matter in a long time.  We didn't own a boat when we lived in Oklahoma and so we never really went to the lake or anything, but now that we live near my parents and they have a boat I think we may have found a new hobby!

Clint enjoyed himself immensly and says that we will be going back real soon.  My dad made sure we understood everything about the boat so that he won't have to take us every time.  He said we can use it whenever we want to...he better watch what he says, because we may just take him up on his offer more often that he really wants us to :-)

Can't you just see how much fun Clancy is having in this picture!  I tell you, he screamed so much and smiled so much that if you had been there you would have thought it was the most fun thing he had ever done!

We stopped at a sand bar on the river to relax for a few minutes, but with a 21 month old I am afraid there is no relaxing time!  He wanted to play and play he did! At first he wasn't quite sure what to think of the sand...this was a first for him, but as the following pictures will show, he learned real quick!
WEEEEE! This sure is fun!  I think I may want to come back again soon!
Now that my clothes are off it is even more fun! Daddy, why are you in boots??  I mean, it's hot out here and I am only in my diaper...you can't be having as much fun as I am. :-)

WOW! This sand is so soft...I am not quite sure what to think about being almost naked out here.  Maybe I should get dirty and then my mom might have a heart attack because she didn't bring a towel or a change of clothes.  I'm really not even sure she has extra diapers in the boat!

I guess I should just rub it all over myself and then if mom takes a picture then I am sure it's alright because otherwise there is NO WAY that she would be taking pictures if she were freaking out about not having a way to clean me!
Man...my diaper is feeling VERY full, I think I will take it off and see what happens then, but of course mom had to put her camera away when that happened, so this is the last picture of me.  I hope you enjoyed seeing the fun that I had while at the river with my family!

Needless to say, Clancy had a wonderful time and I did freak out just a little but when he started getting all muddy, but Clint reminded me that we were on the river and that he could wash off in the river before loading back up in the boat to head home.  Also, in case you were wondering, I did happen to have a Huggies Little Swimmer diaper in the bag on the boat, so that is what Clancy man had to wear home that day.  It was so much fun and definitely a day to remember!  I am enjoying my summer with my family so much, I wish it didn't have to end anytime soon!

This is the only picture I got of myself that day...it began raining quite hard on our way back to the vehicle and it doesn't feel so good to get rained on when you are going 25 miles per hour in a boat, so we slowed way down and my mom (she is always prepared!) had an umbrella for us to sit under!  Needless to say, by the time we got all loaded and in our vehicles we were all exhausted and Clancy took a 3 1/2 hour nap that day... I won't say how long I slept! :-)

Is it July already????

WOW! What happened to the month of June???  I guess when you move to a new state and begin a "new" life things kind of go by quickly!  Good things happened during the month of June however...I got a JOB!!  I will be teaching 1/2 time at the Magnet School 6,7 and 8 grade gifted Languate Arts.  I am not sure about the other 1/2 of my job yet, but I am guaranteed another 1/2.  It will most likely be at another school, but I am grateful to be at the Magnet school at least part time.  I'm praying that something will open up there so that I can be there full time.  Teaching 6,7, and 8th grade will be a change for me as I have taught 5th grade for the past 7 years and I REALLY liked them!  I am sure that I will adjust and love this new job just as much.  I will try to enjoy the rest of my summer, because MAN IT IS FLYING BY!

This past weekend was my birthday as well as the 4th of July, so we packed up and went to Shreveport for the weekend.  We had the BEST time!  It was so good to get away for a couple of nights.  We did a little shopping and relaxing.  Clint's singles groups from when he went to church in Shreveport had a reunion and most of them hadn't seen each other in about 8 years. It was so much fun!  I thought it was funny that everyone that had children had boys and they had so much fun playing with each other.  It is always nice to get together with Christian friends and hang out...it was like we had just seen them yesterday!  I loved hearing wear the Lord has taken all of them and how the Lord has worked in all of our lives.  It was a great afternoon!

Well...onto Mr. Clancy...he is into EVERYTHING!  He absolutely adores the Wonder Pets on Nick Jr.

Watching Wonder Pets

Mom...don't interrupt my Wonder Pets!
Speaking of Wonder Pets...Ci Ci (My Mom) found out that Nick Jr. live was coming to a city near us and so she decided that Clancy just has to go, so she bought us tickets and we are so excited!  I can't believe that I am going to sit through it as well as her, but the look on his face when the Wonder Pets come out should be priceless!  I can't wait!

I told him to smell the flowers and I had to snap fast, because he was quick!

The only picture of me with Mr. Man on the 4th.  Not the greatest, but it will have to work!
So far July has been wonderful!  I am going to try my best to blog at least once a week now, but it just seems like I don't always have time.  I don't understand how some women blog everyday or sometimes even 2 times a day, it boggles my mind, but...to each his own!

Happenings!

Things have been super busy around our house the past week!  I interviewed Monday for a position in our local school district and will hopefully be hearing something VERY soon...I really want to know what I will be teaching next year.  Those of you that know me well know that I really like to plan and I can't do that until I know what I will be teaching!  I am learning to be patient with this process and know that I should just be thankful that I am being interviewed for jobs in this economy.

I am enjoying this summer with Clancy much more than I ever thought!  I am trying to do things each day to keep us busy.  Yesterday we went to the park in Monroe and Clancy had a wonderful time, but it was just so hot we didn't stay but about 30 minutes.  We ate lunch at McDonalds and that is always fun.  Today we went swimming and of course my little man just LOVES that!  I did not have my camera on either adventure, so therefore, there are no pictures :-(  It is really hard to take my camera to the pool when it is just me and Clancy, and yesterday I just forgot it!  I am going to try to do better next time!

We have been able to see my parents a lot since we now only live about 2 miles from them. :-)  Last night we went to eat with them and my dad drove the "State Farm Bug" as I like to call it.  Well...as you will see, Clancy LOVES this car!

This car is totally cool!

Where does the key go??

Oh, there it is!!!
Ci Ci and Poppa getting ready to go cruisin'!!
Hopefully my next post will be full of information about my new job!  I am hopeful that I will hear something in the next couple of days!  Please pray that I hear something too so that the waiting game can be over.  Thanks for stopping by!

Back to the world of blogging!

Well...it sure has been a LONG time since I have posted, but I guess now is a better time than any to begin again! I do have an excuse though...see, we just moved back into the world of high speed internet and so this makes blogging MUCH more enjoyable. With the speed of internet that we used to have it would have taken me 3 hours just to post one photo and it just wasn't worth it. So, now that I have given my excuse, we can move on.

This past week we have been getting settled into our new home. It is quite different from our abode in Oklahoma considering we had 24 acres there and here we have about 1/2 an acre, but the house is lovely and we are adjusting. Clint has a wonderful new place for his horses that he is leasing and so he is just fine with the set up. We now live about a mile from my parents and that is taking some getting used to, not in a bad way, I am just not used to them being down the road. It sure has made this moving process a lot easier because they have helped us so very much, especially with Clancy. It can be trying to move with a 20 month old getting into everything, but with Ci Ci and Poppa there to entertain it sure makes things easier! My grandfather only lives about a 1/2 mile down the road and my brother and his wife only live about 1/2 mile as well. We are surrounded by family after living 8 hours away from them for 8 years. It is nice to be back "home."

Clint started his new job on Monday and I will hopefully interview this week for a teaching position in our town. I am hopeful to teach elementary, but with the way the economy is I will just be happy to have a job!

One of my favorite things about this house is that it has an office! I have a nice computer desk that my grandfather built when he lived here and he left it for me...I LOVE having a place to put all of my "stuff." I am still trying to get it all organized, but I have to do that when little man is asleep because he is not allowed in the office!

Speaking of little man...here is a picture that captures his personality just perfectly!

I hope that you all enjoyed a quick glimpse into our move...my goal is to blog at least once a week. So far it has taken me 2 days just to get this post up! We shall see how it goes this time around! Please come back and visit!
